where to live in singapore

Post by Daytona675 » Wed, 26 Jun 2013 12:02 am

I am considering to relocate to Singapore and i need to collect some information where to live

where shall i look for a 2 bedroom flat to rent in a condominium with pool easier to commute to the marina and not to far from a beach?

will a budget of 5000 SGD/month enough to live in a neighbourhood with fairly well kept building?

I do not need having fancy restaurant around as i cook mostly at home, but i tend to prefer living in areas with lots of green

East Coast meets all of those, as long as you don't mind commuting by bus. The busses are quite nice and relatively quick. You should find plenty of units in your price range anywhere from Fort Rd at the west end to Bedok Rd South at the East end, pretty much the entirety of the East Coast.

Do bear in mind that beaches here are not swimmer friendly, though. The Singapore coast is surrounded by a kajillion ships waiting their turn at the port and it all feels a bit insalubrious...

thanks for the replies... actually the info on the status of the beach is very useful as i want to leave London to live in a place more like my home town, that is clean, sunny and with nice beaches.

The beaches are nice for a walk at sunset on a week night, and maybe a little dipping up to your knees. You'll get some nice views like this, but it's definitely not tropical resort 'lounge at the beach' quality.

All three of these are from East Coast Park, right in the middle of it. Mid day, sunset, and sunrise.
