Executive summary - if you're going to bank with them, do it at the main branch in Collier Quay as other locations seem to be, ahem, somewhat sub-par.

HSBC only offers the hassle free / free and instant transfers to their HSBC Premier customers, which requires something liek S$200k in assets with them. That is what they told me when I first arrived. I had them in the US and it was my intention to stick with them too.

Thanks zzm, always good advice from you.

When I visit in 2 weeks I'll try and visit a citi branch and HSBC and will see what's what.

Having many ATM at my disposal with Citi is definitely an advantage.
