Equally there is little or no mention in UK history books of the huge civilian casualty that occurred when the allies decided to bomb northern France. No mention of the 5000 recorded rapes by American soldiers ether.therat wrote:
They only mention USA drop 2 atomic bomb but did their text book mention 1937 Nanjing Massacre, , Unit 731, comfort woman.
Did their text book said they start WWII is to FREE the South East Asia?
Fact: *You* further complicate it by mentioning a bug up my ass when I was not was confrontational or in anyway even disputing what you said. I simply said they were commonly available in the US. I am well aware of laws restricting speech in other countries when it comes to Nazis.JR8 wrote:What I said is that it's illegal to display the 'Rising sun' flag in Japan. Much like it's illegal to display the Nazi flag in Germany. Fact.
There's no need to further complicate it.
/>>> Talk about stickin' your foot innit! You really did it this time. A lot of us have met Brah's Japanese wife. He's spent a hell of a lot more time in Japan than two years. I reckon you done bite off more'n you can chew this time.sundaymorningstaple wrote: My 'source' is from having lived there for 2 years.
Have you never been there? It'd akin to the Swastika flag in Germany, the suppressed monomaniacal pride thing: You really do feel they'd still love to wave it... but in global terms it would be 'impolite'. That after all is a reason why Japan changed it's flag after WW2, something few countries do!

Not because it was an attack on someone not even on the board, which was pretty stupid on its own merit, but because it was so bizarre and off-topic and doesn't warrant any attention his way.
Freeze this moron out.
Once again I challenge this 'fact' and am giving you the opportunity to provide evidence to your statement?JR8 wrote:What I said is that it's illegal to display the 'Rising sun' flag in Japan. Fact.

Ok, thank you, thank you so much for telling us what your charges are against me.Brah wrote:Once again I challenge this 'fact' and am giving you the opportunity to provide evidence to your statement?JR8 wrote:What I said is that it's illegal to display the 'Rising sun' flag in Japan. Fact.

No drama, I just believe it is incorrect.
The Rising Sun Flag is the military flag of Japan. It was used as the ensign of the Imperial Japanese Navy and the war flag of the Imperial Japanese Army until the end of World War II. It is also presently the ensign of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the war flag of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It is also waved during the Japanese New Year and in sporting events.
