Hey guys, I've recently been offered a job as a Graduate Landscape Architect in Singapore (Singaporean Company), and just wondering if any of you would know (through experience or expertise in the matter) what my chances are of having my E-Pass application approved?
Here are my stats:
- 25 Year old Male
- Australian Citizen (Born in the Philippines)
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architect from the University of Melbourne
- 1 Year of relevant work experience in Australia
- No work experience in Singapore
- Have traveled to Singapore twice as a tourist
- Currently enrolled in my Masters in Architecture at the University of Melbourne (planning to defer studies)
- Salary offered $3,600 per month
- No criminal offences
What is the likelihood of me being granted the visa? Thanks!

$3600 is quite low for an expat. They are giving you a local package. So, why shouldn't the company just hire a local? If you've read this board, you know it is getting harder and harder to get employment passes.mrkl28 wrote:Yep sure have.
But from what I have been reading on these forums is that it isn't an absolute clear indicator...
For those who don't think I'll get it, can you explain your reasoning?
Thanks
The only thing that may work in your favor is a relative shortage graduate landscape architects.
Thanks for your opinion
Initially they offered $3,200 but that was way too low to even sustain living in Singapore. So when I asked for a higher salary and got the 3.6k I took it. It is close to what I was getting here in melbourne. Architects and landscape architects usually begin quite low and build up considerably throughout their career. Anyway wish me luck!
Singapore's great, and would be an amazing place to live for a while. I'm lucky yo have Australia to go if things don't turn out the way I expected it to.
