I suspect there is a lot of truth in it though.Sergei82 wrote:So far that hardwarezone thread looks more like speculation and political agitation.the lynx wrote:On that.local lad wrote: ... the haze problem does not lie with the Indonesians....it lies with...

True but if something generates Ozone you will smell it very soon. The trick is to charge the smoke particles so they can be atracted to the filter's mesh.QRM wrote:Alot of these ionising/ozone filters causes more problems then it solves see this web page for filters to avoid, http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/ozone.htmx9200 wrote: - the mentioned purifiers with ionizers should help a bit
- also IMHO just an ordinary aircon should remove some fraction with the moisture condensing and being dumped down the drain
Even WSJ is making that claim:Sergei82 wrote:So far that hardwarezone thread looks more like speculation and political agitation.the lynx wrote:On that.local lad wrote: ... the haze problem does not lie with the Indonesians....it lies with...

While subsistence farmers and accidental causes have also been blamed, academics say most fires have been detected in plantation areas owned or to be used by palm oil companies—

How dare thousands or even millions of people struggling to survive in a third world shit hole dare inconvenience those of us on this little red dot a few weeks every year. Forcing us to stay in aircon'd malls or busses for more time than we already do.
Somehow I suspect if given the option, they too would rather be in the malls than outside slashing and burning everything around them. But I do understand the choice they make between slashing and burning so they can put food on the table, or not eating. I'd probably do the same.
You're also in the same direction??? A half of people surrounding me in the office are coughing all day long, me myself can't talk a single complete sentence without choking and coughing. Are we all freaking snobs???Hannieroo wrote:I agree it's worrying and unpleasant but "my iPad got dirty" is a bit first world problem.
