Anyone experience in switching int. schools?

Post by karen24 » Mon, 17 Jun 2013 11:42 am

Hi everyone, I need some advise!
I'm thinking off switching school for my kids as I feel their school is too big for my younger one, they're in first and third grade now..
Is anyone in the same situation or does anyone have any experience switching between schools?
Thanks, Karen

I swtiched mine from International to Local but have good knowledge of many International Schools. What school you going from and to?
Usually there is no issue but just make sure you have a confirmed space at new school and that you give the required notice at your old school - they will not be flexible and they will keep your bond if you do not give full notice - this is sometimes up to one year but is usually at least one term. And make sure the school you are going to pro-ratas your fees.
Also watch changes in curriculum. Some schools say that teach such and such but will be at at different level from what your child may be learning at their old school. Make sure your new school as good onward education - ie if you are still here in a few years time when your children are going into secondary school. Many people get stuck without a place for secondary (if there school does nto offer secondary) due to the long waiting lists
