Curly hair stylist needed

Post by Numpty » Sun, 16 Jun 2013 1:34 pm

Hi,

I've seen lots of threads on here about styling caucasian hair, but they seem to refer predominantly to highlights and straight or wavy hair. My hair is really curly and I'm looking for any recommendations for someone that can cut curly hair well.

Previously I've been to stylists that specialise in working with black hair in some cities as they're usually better at judging the bounce back of the curls once the hair dries - I've had a LOT of stylists that underestimate this in my time!

Are there any other (very) curly haired women on here that might be able to recommend somewhere? Not sure I can hold out until my next visit home.

Thanks in advance.

Jovincci 3 floor Orchard Hotel shopping arcade. Both myself and another friend with curly hair go there. I think she is the only person in Singapore to be able to blow dry my hair better than I can, she understands curls.

Hi,

I'm frizzy in addition to long and curly, would you mind posting how you got on at Jovincci?

Thanks in advance :)

Urban Hair Aveda at Marina Bay Sands! It's located at Basement 1! I've been going there for quite a number of years already. Whenever I'm around, I observe quite a number of caucasian clients there. My hair is naturally curly and they somehow always make it work for me!

Keratin treatment

Post by Rhaddad » Wed, 11 Dec 2013 12:09 pm

Can anyone recommend a reputable place for a keratin treatment? I heard many actually use lye/relaxer instead of keratin. I went for a consultation with Cedric at Le Papillion because of some reviews, but I was not that impressed and I have heard mixed reviews about his attention to detail and work. I also checked with Toni & Guy and they recommended a series of $150 deep conditioning treatments before doing the Keratin. Anyone out there experienced, technically good and trustworthy?
