Men's shaving brush and soap

Post by zzm9980 » Sat, 15 Jun 2013 2:16 pm

Hi,

Are there any places in Singapore that sell Men's shaving brushes and shaving soap?

I just bought a nice new Merkur razor (and enough blades for a few years), partly because semi-decent disposable razor cartridges are so friggin expensive here. Anyway, I forgot to get a brush. I've been to a few Cold Storages, Watsons and Guardian, Robinsons and Takashimaya, and a few random skin care/health stores. Only Sephora has a shaving brush for men, and it is $55 and of questionable quality.

Any suggestions appreciated before I head back to Amazon.

Sorry... it was a side-reference to some idle chat yesterday... :)

Oh they sell stuff too? Awesome. I saw their shop last time I ate over there. Considered trying them for a haircut, but it's not terribly convenient. I'll drop in though to see their gear.

Thanks!

Bodyshop used to sell them - I don;t know if they still do - it seems anything good for sale in Bodyshop only lasts on season.

No, this is one of the places I checked. Parkway and Ngee Ann didn't have it.

That's what I was afraid of. I was inside of Mustafa one time around midnight and vowed never to go back.

If I do go, any suggestion *where* in Mustafa? I have no doubt they sell them. But where? heh.

I think it is the 2nd entry door down syed alwi rd, the one with the security checking of backpacks. There is an elevator and a row of checkouts just inside that door. The shaving stuff is inside on the left (2nd row in?) - I can get my shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and shaving stuff and be out of there in about 5 minutes as they are all within a few rows of each other... Not too painful if one doesn't stray out of the toiletries area...

Get a decent brand badger hair brush (Kent or Parker are great brands), they last far longer than a synthetic one! I have had mine for 7 or 8 years now, a synthetic one would have been done 2-3 times over!

That's the plan if I can find one local.
