National Day Parade - when is it?

A question relating to the military jets doing low-level 'bombing runs' over our neighbourhood; and how this is apparently preparation for the National Day Parade.

When is the NDP this year?

I checked through www.ndp.org.sg and yet have not managed to find the date.

Anyone know, thx!

Preview on 4th Aug, NDP on 9th Aug (of course!)

But preview session is strictly with tickets only.

Anyway rehearsals starts from 23rd Jun onwards so you may get to see some action.

And air rehearsals on the following dates and times

a) Date: 12/06/2013& 19/06/2013
Time: 1000hrs - 1130hrs

b) Date: 15/06/2013
Time: 1000hrs - 1100hrs, 1700hrs - 1800hrs

c) Date: 22/06/2013
Time: 1715hrs - 1915hrs

Thanks (and to Lynx), the above answers it.

I hadn't realised ND was a fixed date, I had imagined that it might be something like 'the third Sunday in August' or something similar.

It is reassuring to know there is a fixed schedule, as my perception was it was going on every day, on and off all day long.

The only sub-question that remains, is that the earliest date above is today, so what have the previous days fly-bys been: is it correct to asume the above source edit the dates to only show present/future dates?

These are the only dates I've been made aware of to date and I believe are only for June. Previous years there have been air rehearsal every Saturday at 5pm for the 4 to 5 weeks prior to National Day

You're right, now you mention it that is what I've previously experienced. Probably why the apparent randomness of these recent days was getting to me.

It can put the wind up me those things coming over (and over, and over) at an altitude of maybe 1000M (??). It would take just a single mistake for one of them to come down and obliterate a city block

Cheers - exactly what I've been looking for. I guess they don't say exactly where the best vantage point will be, but I did see them in the Marina Bay area yesterday.

BTW, who is buried in Grant's Tomb?

They've since updated the NDP site with the timings, it doesn't mention the event for this Saturday. Maybe you have inside information.......
