FYI - folks.
Not a scare, but this came from our HR Team:
Dear colleagues
Recently, one employee of TA was diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB). The person has since been treated and cleared by the attending physician to return to work.
11 employees were subsequently asked to be screened for latent TB Infection in May. Three of these employees received notification to return for review and further tests.
This testing requirement does not mean that they are infected with latent TB.
They are NOT infectious and preventive medication will be prescribed should the doctor find it necessary.
Please also be informed that for health safety measures, the TB Control Unit has since visited and inspected the office environment and has reviewed the layout and ventilation of Singapore premises.
TA had also informed the TB Control Unit that the infected employee had made visits to various agencies.
However, the TB Control Unit has advised that at this point, there is no need to alert the agencies and the rest of employees and other contacts are not required to go through similar screening as this may result in false positives and unnecessary preventive treatments.
As always, we urge all who feel unwell to seek medical advice from the Company panel of doctors before returning to work.

Squirrel, we had a similar case last year as well with one employee confirmed with TB. 18 staff in the office. Two only cleared at first blood test at CDC (myself and one other) The rest after a 2nd testing but two on 6 months meds before being cleared.
SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers
it is nice to know that, despite the enforcement, they advice against undue panic .. somebody knows the stuff I guess.sundaymorningstaple wrote:Squirrel, we had a similar case last year as well with one employee confirmed with TB. 18 staff in the office. Do not use Valet services to drive your car. They are not insured nor are you in an accident.
