I think if you look for a nice 1 bed hdb just outside of the more central areas, limited your eating out to street stall and avoided taxis you could live ok on that. Not lavish but ok.

+1. In addition, make sure you ask for an alcohol allowance, its very expensive and the Cost of Living allowance wont be enough to cover it.

Another arse who deletes their posts rendering the thread useless. I hope his EP is rejected.

Nice to see that whilst he's too thick to perform even the most basic search to see if a benefits package worth 32k plus salary a month is doable he's not too thick to tell when people are taking the piss.

Ha! You'll need it.
You won't really need your whole housing budget so see if you can negotiate utilities/cell phone/club membership as part of the package not to exceed the amount offered. Also, assuming a little, if you don't have children but think you might lots of people here came for a year and stayed 7. So maybe get an education thing in there just in case if you think it applies. It can be 30k a year.

I see what you did there.

Thanks for the advice - it was a serious question but I made the schoolboy error of not checking the forum first - and I know better than that. I can see now that my first post was inconsiderate and it's a great package. So apologies if it caused offence.

I didn't think it was inconsiderate. It made me laugh and I just couldn't resist.
Try and see if you can get your transport in cash. With ours we get a budget, we choose what we want and the company gets direct billing but if we'd had the cash we'd have gone with two smaller cars probably.

I wish I'd seen your first post! As this forum is open, it's useful to let others see what the question was so they can see if the answers are relevant to them. You asked a question, I am sure there are plenty who would have the same or similar one!
However, it IS inconsiderate to remove the post IMO.

I remember his 1st post.
He has got a Housing Allowance of $26,000 per month, Cost of Living allowance of $4500 per month and some other allowances and all that aside from his salary and he wants to know if that is sufficient to survive in Singapore.
And from his nick, he seems to be born in 89, so you guys believe this 25 yr old kid?
