Transfer of Ownership of HDB flat upon divorce

Post by enslaved » Fri, 07 Jun 2013 5:29 pm

Hi All,

FAQ's of HDB does not say about this situation:

I am divorced and remarried. My exwife don't have money to takeover.

My current wife and my Ex-wife are not relatives. The eligibility condition for transfer, as per HDB page, says the following about relationship: "A flat owner may transfer his flat ownership to his spouse, parents, children, siblings or other blood relatives eligible to be included."

Does it mean my ex-wife can't transfer the flat to my current wife?

But there is a confusion as below:

I and my exwife are the current owners. I and new wife are the proposed owners. In the transfer process, we individually satisfies this rule. My exwife's "spouse" (or ex-spouse, as this is the case of divorce) is me. so she satisfies. My spouse is the current wife. so I satisfy. Does this mean the transfer can take-place?
