Farmers Market for Expat Wife/GF

Post by PriestFC » Thu, 06 Jun 2013 10:45 am

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advise, I am really keen to start up a stall at the farmers market in Dempsey Hill but need some information in terms of legality of running/operating a stall.

I am on the Long Term Visit Pass (piggy backing off my husband to be) so understand that I can't work on this pass, does anyone know if there are any exemptions if you are only earning a small amount of money or do I need to go through the whole process of setting up a business???

It's all a bit overwhemling so would love any advise/information people have. Particuarly if you have been in the same situation as me.

Thanks :)

You are stuck between a rock & a hard place. You have to go through the same business start up processes that anybody wanting to start a normal business has to do. There are numerous threads here with information in that regard.

Do you require a business licence to sell there (or otherwise)? I guess what I'm saying is that if they don't ask for your FIN, and it's a part time job - who is to know? if they do ask for one - use your husbands, drag him up there and be his unpaid 'helper'.
