Thanks for all the info, it does not sound as if it is a good place to bring a pair of gun dogs..does anyone have larger Labrador, retriever size dogs out there....? They are a big part of our family and it would be awful if we had to leavethembehind??
Thanks
At the risk of repeating myself.
You don't see many large dogs in SG, never minds' gun-dogs'.
Many people will be afraid of them
Many landlords won't let to you.
Dogs in Singapore are toys, things to carry about in handbags.

But you must already know what kind of property you expect to rent. How are your working dogs going to cope with being indoors in such a space 23.5/24hrs?
Sorry JR8 but here you are wrong. I live on the east coast and there are lots, and I mean lots, of golden retrievers, labs, a few red setter and plenty of collies. It is a great life for them. My own dog has a great time and has lived in houses, apartments, condos - everything. We have lived in 11 places and never been refused a lease and landlords take the dog as just standard. Only issue would be if you were renting an HDB and they would be banned as they are big dogs.

Ok, fair enough, and interesting, thanks.

The feeling I had is that big dogs are a bit of a handicap, if you haven't the benefit of a villa and extensive grounds. ...

I grew up in the country, and wouldn't bring more than toy-pets here (actually I wouldn't bring any, as a) I wouldn't own toy-pets, and b) I wouldn't take 'em to the tropics)

Want a pet in SG? Buy a monkey.
