Best city ever?

Post by Hannieroo » Tue, 04 Jun 2013 11:33 am

What city did people enjoy the most? Not to live but to visit.

For me it's Prague. The architecture, the food and the lovely little microbreweries with gorgeous beer. We went at the end of September and there was one of those Indian summer weeks, it's warm but you can smell autumn coming.

Currently, Shanghai.

I like the food, very contrasting mix of old and new, and that it is within 1-2 hours by HSR of so many other places to visit.

I speak passable Mandarin though, and am not easily bothered by the air. Everyone else's experience may differ accordingly.

You want to bang those with ##ck? Why go all the way to Bangkok? I'm pretty sure one of the basement bars at OT specializes in your thing.

Sure, depending on the age. But the age I'm thinking of I wouldn't want to take them anywhere heh. And they may not appreciate it as much as an adult would.

Oh, the States. San Antonio, great food, weather, loads to do and the river walk brings me joy.

No clear winner for me. As a visitor I liked:
Tokyo in spring for many things;
HK and Bangkok for being very much alive with specific atmosphere;
Rome for the strange feeling of many places so familiar even when visited for the first time, and for ice-cream;
Amsterdam for the old city with many canals;

Prague is in serious troubles at this moment.

I've been trying to think of another city, but only one keep coming back and it's a US one as well. New Orleans. I love the food, the music and the ambiance. Or at least pre-Katrina. Haven't been there since the Hurricane.

N.O. would be at the top of my list had I ever been, hope to one day. Tokyo is as well as it's always great to be back.
