Be a little bit more careful and perhaps discreet people.

Something's up. I'm not paranoid but the hairs on the back of my neck are up. Be careful if you are a foreigner (white esp) for the next few days. Sorry but I can't say why. I'm restricting my families outings and avoiding crowded places and just being a little cautious. I don't know what the threat is though so I can't give specific advice.

(And yes - I have my tin foil hat on)

I'm pretty new here and all, so maybe I'm missing an inside joke. But that said, either way, OP, I reckon that's a pretty awkward post.

PNGMK, this just serves to scare people, perhaps unecessarily - what are you on about?
Is this a feeling or did you read something somewhere.

Source of angst please?

If we get to midnight on 2/6 without a major event I'm ok. Just keep a low profile. I can't say why.

Sound advice in any country.

I'd be surprised more than anything if your fears materialized, seeing as SG is generally so calm and safe.

I think if somebody has bothered to try and give people a heads up but cannot share their source and the only thing they are advising is to be a little wary for a few days then we should take that at face value. He's not asking us to evacuate or start prepping.

Sorry, but this is a ridiculous thread. The only drama I see coming is having to find something different to do on Saturday nights now the football season has finished.......

If you didn't say that after 2 June you'd be ok, I'd guess you're talking about the annual Great Singapore Sale. Going into shops and getting accosted by pushy sales people is very annoying. They see a caucasian and assume you're loose with money.

Your point is valid. My counter is ask yourself (or better yet try to find out) - why SG is so "calm and safe".

Yep, I know about that. And I also know about pressure cookers... will see if it's like that.
