Malaysia Visa

Post by Wd40 » Fri, 24 May 2013 11:19 am

Do they still give 1 yr visa(or until your EP expires whichever is earlier), like they used to? I heard someone telling that now they give short duration visas.
Just got my PEP and would love to get a 1 yr multiple entry visit visa. If they give only short term, then I would rather plan when to take it.

To work in Malaysia? Or, are you referring to requirements for Indians to get a visa to enter Malaysia?

I am talking about the multiple entry tourist visa. We used to go and apply for it in Mustafa and they would give us usually 1 yr, ofcourse its completely at their discretion regarding the duration of the visa. Each entry into Malaysia we get 30 days.

In the past I have got 1 yr visa for 3 continuous years and we have explored much of the region, Langkawi, Cameron Highlands, KL/Genting, Malacca and also I used to do petrol runs every 2 weeks or monthly into JB, so much so that my Passport is almost full of Malaysia stamps

Last year, I didnt apply for the visa as our baby was born so we didnt travel as much and no more petrol runs.

But now, I am planning to explore Malaysia again, this time mostly we will hire car and go to places Desaru, Cameron, Penang, Taman Negara etc

A 1 yr multiple entry visa will just be perfect but I heard some of colleagues saying that nowadays they give only like 3 months multiple entry. Just wanted to know from people what the scene is at the moment.

Going by a few colleagues who obtained for a company visit to JH, it is Same same.

The Multiple entry is tied to the validity of your REP/LTVP/EP and whatever residency you are holding in Singapore

You can still apply in Mustafa.

Turnaround 5 to 7 days :)
