Wondering if anyone can share their good or bad experiences with the Pet Hotel here. I am looking for a good place to board my cat for 4 nights.[/b]

Hi there, I visited a couple of cat hotels but decided they were too depressing... I've used grinning cat sitters 4 times now, and they're awesome! For a short trip, it's so less stressful for my fur baby to keep her in her own environment :)

valee.anne, thanks for that recommend. I did some research on them and they look like something that would go over well with our readers here.

This means you should give them the key to your house while you're away? Any issues with that?

Obviously there is an element of trust there. I'm also pretty sure they carry the right kind of insurance to cover any eventualities. From what I've read, you don't just call 'em up and give 'em the keys. In fact, before you are assigned a minder, a meeting will be arranged and the handlers will be vetted to ensure a viable fit with the animals. Also, to see if there is any potential conflicts between the owners/handlers. Seems they have been pretty successful and are certified (but how much the certification actually means I didn't delve into).

Heck, most leave their maids alone all day long with the house...... :-|

Last time I left for 5 days I opened the door, locked the gate and paid a neightbour to put kibble in the bowl outside the gate 2 times a day. I came back to a full litter box and a happy enough cat.
