My company transferred me to Singapore (from the US) last December. They took care of all the immigration stuff, set up the apartment, services, etc.., so I never thought much about my application or my status here.
I have a blue green card that says "Employment Pass" at the top and it looks to be good for two years.
Does this make me a "permanent resident"?
If not, can I sponsor my Indonesian girlfriend to live here (not work just stay with me) with my current status?
Thanks.

Not a permanent resident, and can't sponsor even if you become a permanent resident in the future.

unless of course he marries her
BTW, Indonesia is - or rather starts just across the sea - South China Sea .. so he isn't far from Indonesia anyway

Actually, it starts just across the harbour in Batam!

Total travel time (both way) including immigration clearance and waiting time for the ferry only 4hr.
And the immigration in Batam will love to accept you because of your visa on arrival fee.

No you can't unless your marry her.
You're not a permanent resident. But, the US Embassy will treat you (and her if she gets here) as a resident of Singapore once you've been here for six months. That implication is important if you want to get a visa for her to ever go to the US.

Thanks for the help, all.
So basically the Batam Ferry is the only way we have a chance (as long as I'm Singapore)? Oh well, I guess I've gone through worse for less.
