IBTW, there are some stalls in regular coffee shops with very decent choice of beer. I am aware of one at Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre selling stuff like the Chimays in 0.75l bottles.

Jeepers... and that, from memory is from 8-11% depending on the variety...

Can't do more than say a pair of those.... 'Ding-Dong'...


(strange I could probably still manage say 8 pints of 5% beer over the course of an evening, but two Chimays is like necking two bottles of lighter wine (strength wise). Beautiful beer... but in small quantities, or it's night and adios!

Cider Pit is good, it's owned by George who owns the beer shop on Joo Chiat too, he imports and sells from Aus and UK, loads of Ciders (as you can imagine) loads of ales and everything else, they also do a very good cooked breakfast, sounds like it may be similar to the Colbar.

Beers in Cider pit tend to be around $10-$13 for a half liter bottle, I am desensitized to paying this now, so I'm ok with it cause its stuff I haven't had in SG before.

Cider Pit FTW! And yes, the only reason I like it there is because I get to sample different stuff that I wouldn't normally find in Singapore/Malaysia. I actually like the set-up of that place but having Eagles Gathering there will be a little too far for me.

Cider Pit sounds (and looks from the google img.) good too, $10-13 for 0.5l is very reasonable, but yeah, the location a bit challenging.
