what to bring from abroad?
A friend of mine is moving to Singapore from the US and was asking for stuff that is hard to find or much more expensive in Singapore than in the US and should be brought with her.
Any ideas?

Almost everything is more expensive in Singapore. If you check the archives I believe this has been threaded before.goders wrote:A friend of mine is moving to Singapore from the US and was asking for stuff that is hard to find or much more expensive in Singapore than in the US and should be brought with her.

I don't buy anything here. The shopping is horrible. I buy books, clothes, select electronics and even toys from the US, online. Usually from Amazon.com. Anything you need to plug directly into the wall, buy from Amazon's UK website. In Singapore, even if you can find what you're looking for, the quality is always very poor. It's just not worth it.

You're posting on the 'IT/Electrical etc' board, is this the subject which you are querying, or is it more general?goders wrote:A friend of mine is moving to Singapore from the US and was asking for stuff that is hard to find or much more expensive in Singapore than in the US and should be brought with her.

p.s. I thought I'd replied to the question (in a general/food/clothing sense) yesterday, but it seems that reply was 'lost in the ether'. If you can clarify what your friend has in mind, I'll repeat my advice, if appropriate.
