Furniture Moving Fit?

Post by duncanmacleod » Thu, 25 Apr 2013 7:55 am

Silly and Quick question;

We're shipping our furniture and we have a largeish sofa; 90" (228cm) long and 36" width (90cm) and 36" height (90cm). Will that have problems getting into a typical apartment in Singapore? Any thoughts? Thanks!

No, it shouldn't be a problem, as 95% of flats in SG are 'purpose built', as opposed to old houses split into flats ('conversions').

So most places have lifts, and those that don't have wide staircases and doors etc.

The only reasons not to take it (IMHO):
- It needs replacing anyway
- and/or you're paying for the freight
- It is a valuable, antique, or delicate item (the SG climate is brutal of things like sofas etc)

Thanks for your reply. I've heard about how Singapore kicks some things butt with the humidity - leather being one of them. Hopefully this one will hold up ok. Cheers.
