Hi All,
I'm due to be in Singapore from approximately 9th-17th May as I'll be interviewing with several firms that week. I live in the UK and I'd like to find a room for 7-8 days while I stay.
I don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel - all I need is a non-shared room with air-con, a TV and shower really.
The cheapest hotels I can find are all in Geylang though and when my interviewers ask 'Where are you staying while you're here?', then I expect saying 'Geylang' won't exactly sound very good to my potential future employers!
Could anyone please suggest an alternative?
Many thanks in advance for any advice,
Rob

Windsor hotel, Macpherson Road. They do longer terms deals.
Also Value Hotel and Fragrance hotels have good websites with lots of places that aren't in Geylang.
Now I'm called PNGMK

If the word Geylang is a taboo, look for Balestier instead. To name a few:
Value Hotel (2 of them)
Fragrance Hotel
Hotel 81

I do not see any serious reason why Geylang should not sound very good to your potential future employers. In any case, you can always lie about where you're staying in hotel - not your permanent address anyway.

In fact, you potential employer already knows Singapore and the prices therein. Therefore, if you stay in a Budget hotel, you may well get props for being thrifty. Never can tell.
