You need to have a GSM phone to work in Singapore. You should buy your prepaid SIM card locally at one of the phone shops or carrier stores. They all cost about the same. I prefer Singtel but others obviously like Starhub or M1 better.

Also be aware you will need to present your passport or Singapore-issued I/C to purchase a prepaid SIM.

The also have SIA and Scoot. But no aircraft carriers.
