I think you should address that to wd40, not me.

Wd40, I did your Google image test. I see the same few touristy photos of Bangalore, and they're places I've visited that I *know* don't look like that most of the time. Although I haven't been to Wroclaw, I have been to Poland (half Polish actually) and I know that Krakow, Warsaw, *do* look like that.

Also I took your test a step further, and searched for "Wroclaw slum". All of the slummy photos that came up were from India. In all fairness, it could be Google bias feeding me photos based on my previous searches for "Bangalore slum".

To my knowledge, there is no slums in the whole Europe.
You may find some old commie building which look like slums, but they are not slums and it is okay inside those buildings.

Only one place comes to my mind - Romania. They have minority called gypsies (very interesting, wikipedia says that they have Indian roots) and they live in slums - but it the choice they made, they have opportunities to improve their lifestyle, but it looks like they don't use it.

Singapore was once a low cost option for international banks, probably just as attractive as Wroclaw is now. I wonder how long that will last.
It will last until that place gets expensive and then they'll simply move onto the next low-cost centre.......

Coming back to Singapore both from Wroclaw and Banglore sucks: you will be asked about your previous salary anyway, and nobody will give damn about differences in cost of living and other factors.

Borat wasn't filmed there, it was filmed somewhere in Eastern Europe.

Believe me, Kazakhstan is doing quite okay, not so rich, but not poor.

As I remember, it was in Georgia - hard to say that it belongs to Europe

Probably, European slum comes with a different name: "village". But it is usually far from any cities and towns.
