Can I claim GST input tax after GST registration approved?

Post by blackbirdz » Tue, 02 Apr 2013 2:14 pm

Supposed a month ago I purchased supplies and paid $1000 GST. Then today, I applied for GST registration and approved.

My question - since I am now GST registered business, can I claim that $1000 (that I paid prior to GST registration approval) as my Input Tax?

Can somebody share?

No. You were not a GST registered business and could neither collect nor file for input tax refunds.
