Is S$14000, good enough ?

Hi, I am relocating from London to Singapore sometime next year , I have been offered a total package of S$ 14K / month exclusive of Bonuses , is that a good salary for Singapore ?
Also taking into consideration that I have around 9 years of Work Ex.

I work for a bank in London & wish I was the CEO

but I am not...I am a Senior Manager with the bank

You say your a senior manager and your getting a salary of $14k per month? I find that very hard to believe! No one that I know of that works here in a senior management role gets anything close to that. Maybe your just a lucky one? Must be nice!

Why do you find it hard to believe? A local Bachelor's degree holder can get an entry-level job in asset management for S$8.5k p.m., so S$14k is not unreasonable for someone with 9 years experience.

Actually that's a pretty average to low salary for a senior expat. (I'm not saying it's a bad one, just stating a fact.)

It was seeming a bit low to me as well, but anyhow as long as it is comfortable , i guess its ok

Does the package includes accommodation and travelling expenses. If not, then its ok. If you have to pay for accommodation and travelling expenses, then $14K is so so only....

Think ron said "total package" but it's fine - especially for a single person which I am assuming he is. Don't blow it all on booze and women, negotiate a sensible rent, and you should be able to save some. (Actually I am just assuming he is a he too, from other threads.)

I can't believe that someone would say that if his "package" at $14K per MONTH does not include housing than it's a so-so deal?? My God, I would be more than happy, elated really, to make that kind of salary! I live on less than a $4K per month salary (yes, as an expat), I have a great education, and many years of work experience and I do just fine with that salary. I manage to save a bit, have a nice condo in the east, take two or three trips overseas per year and I eat out constantly! So making $14K you should be living high on the hog! Have fun!

I think S$14k is bloody marvellous..expat or not! I've been looking for a senior accounting role in Spore for a while and theyre only offering S$4500 - $5500 max (no benefits included) with an MNC.

You'll have a ball on your salary!

There are far to many jobs to list which command such pay and more. A pilot or a professor would not be anywere near the top of this list.
