It's interesting they're so much more candid with overseas media than their own. I've been thinking they could dampen the hysteria a bit if they were just a bit more upfront with the local population.

The local foaming at the mouth crowd doesn't read overseas media, and those locals that do are already worldly enough to form non-xenophobic extreme opinions (be it for or against the gahmen)
