Pass Rejected: Should pursue to find a job or go home..

Post by adventureworks » Mon, 18 Mar 2013 11:12 am

Hi All,

I am currently working as a software engineer in a local company. My boss tried several times to renew my EP but was rejected. He also tried to apply me SPass but was reject as well.

There was no reason stated. I'm not sure but I guess it has to do with the quota.

The good thing is he's offering me to work in our Manila office.

However, I was thinking.. should I try to apply to another company. I would love to stay here. But is that really hard right now to get your pass approved?

I was just wondering if it's only about the quota that my pass was rejected. Then maybe in a company with available quota my pass will likely be approved.

Thanks for your advise.

What is your salary, age, and experience/qualifications? Those all have an effect. Salary being the most.

Sounds like the company is the problem and not you. Try getting a job at a bigger consulting company, you should be able to get the visa.

How much will you be making if you work in the Philippines? That can be a factor as well. You gotta look much further down the road now since Singapore is practically driving away migrant workers.

i agree with nakatago...you have to consider the long term. do you still want to work for this company in the Philippines? I imagine you would have more opportunities now since you have an overseas experience.

The Manila was actually a good offer. Equivalent salary in pesos.

Thanks all for your advise. I'll consider the offer.
