Consequences of looking job while in SG without working visa

If have only a tourist visa and don't have any "working visas" such as EP/PR for SG, is it a real risk to get caught while looking for a job in SG?

Does many people get caught? Any stories you know?

I can't see any issues with looking for work whilst on a tourist visa.

But (as I expect you are aware), you cannot undertake paid employment on a tourist visa.

You find a job, and the company HR department then applies for the visa for you.

Tnx. According to the law, it seems to be illegal to be in Singapore and look for work as a tourist. I am just wondering how strong Singapore enforce this.

gadoushi, it is NOT illegal to look for work while on a social visit pass. It is illegal to actually work however. Before you can work the potential employer has to apply for a working visa on your behalf. (you cannot do this. On the the employer can do it. Therefore, look to your hearth content. Good luck with your search. You are going to need it.
