Looking into getting some F1 tickets for September - any seats / stands to avoid?

The sale for 2013 race has started more than 6 months back (Yup, I got mine on Sept 2012), so I doubt whether you will have much choices available. Mine is at Bay Grandstand on the light green section, which I found pretty good last time around. IMO, Choosing the right seat for you will be up to your convenience and common sense.

I usually buy this for the concerts and the festive atmosphere, and hardly sit on the allocated seats. For me it is more enjoyable watching on big tv screens. So my advice would be to buy the ticket as early as possible (means right now), so that you will have more options to choose from.

walkabout?

Post by forestial » Sun, 05 May 2013 10:13 pm

What do the 'walkabout' tickets provide? The website says you can sit in various bleachers but there is no information about where these are.

Is it just first-come-first-served on the day for these bleachers?

"Walkabouts" just means that you dont have a seat alloted. You can walk around the open section of the track and sit pretty much everywhere in the area (and Padang where there is a big screen shows the race telecast). I havent noticed any vacant so-called "bleachers" so I guess there arent many. People tend to move around (even those with seats alloted) a LOT , so first-come-first-serve wont be a proper way to put it.
