are scooters also heavily taxed as cars? or are they similar in price to other countries (US)?

No, at this moment the COE is ~S$1k5, road tax is negligible ($S60-80 for 2b per year). Price, I don't know the US market but when I checked for EU 2-3y ago it appeared similar.

No COE in the US, otherwise the cost is comparable.

The actual MSRP and importation costs of cars in Singapore are comparable (within ~10%) of the US also, except maybe on the super-car end. It's the COE, PARF, and whatever else that boosts it into the stratosphere.

ah i see thank you! thought i'd use scooters to get to nearby markets and hang out places within 20 minute walking distance rather than using bikes. does anyone know if we have to get a special license for scooters as well that is different than the motorcycle license?

you need a motorcycle license to ride a scooter.

you can look into motorized bicycles (LTA approved) for ease of parking.

Any reliable and durable E-scooters you guys can recommend? I'm scouting for one and I haven't found one to buy.
