You would be better off going the the MOE.gov.sg site and seeing how to contact the schools for places. Unfortunately, you'll probably not be able to get one into a school until December for the next school year as all places will probably be already filled. You will not have any choice as to where the vacancies are, so you may well find you child will have to bus some distance unless you are prepared to take & pick 'em up yourself. Dependents of EP holders are way, way down at the bottom of the list so it only those schools that don't manage to fill up that will have availability and usually they will be outlying "neighbourhood" schools.

Good luck. You may have to home school from now till December.

You can join the "Singapore Expat - Parents" on facebook. We are a group of homeschooling and local school going community. Maybe we are able to provide some light to your questions.

I have 3 kids. 2 is still homeschooling while the other is in a local school. For my homeschooling kids, we will be taking a school test next week Friday. We do get help from MOE but they allocate us a school which is far away from where we are. The school that my kids will be taking the test is nearer to us.

Beside going to MOE, have you go to any school of your choice? Maybe you could email me at [email protected] or join our facebook page.

Hi,

You should try writing to the schools principal directly to enquire if they have vacancy. Sometimes, if they have the vacancy, they can allow students to join in at any part of the year.

To find out Principal's email address... you can try this method.

1) Go to www.sgdi.sg
2) On the left hand side, under organisation, type 'Ministry of Education', for Job title, type 'Principal' then click find
3) With the list of names generated, you can look for someone who is a Primary School Prinicpal... click on his name and a whole list of Principals from various schools will be reflected.

Good luck... :-)
