I was really keen on enrolling my son but I've heard rumors that the lease for the premises are expiring in 2016. I'm really keen to enroll my son at Avondale for it's curriculum and of course the close proximity to our home. Has anyone else heard about this rumor or is it just hearsay?
Hi newjunior - did you decide to send your child to Avondale in the end? We are considering it (as well as Chatsworth, AIS and Nexus). Did you visit any of these too? Would love your opinion.

Hi Sunny,

As I have noticed here in Singapore and around the world, everyone's experience can be different.
Avondale has provided my son a safe, supportive, and challenging school experience. Every child is challenged to get out and shine. There is sports, music, art, as well as extra curricular activities.
The Teachers are positive and present period. They are also accessible for parents. When I had a small issue, it was heard, talked about, and dealt with in a productive fair way, I could not ask for more.
I am a big supporter of Avondale but the decision has to yours. If your kids are use to a smallish school then Avondale will fit that and you will be happy, and they will be happy. Avondale is growing but it takes time and thats probably why it doesn't get as much mention.

So they do sport training once a week in the year 3-8. Im not sure about the jr. school.
There are 4 "houses and all children are participants of the swim, and sport carnivals.
THey go off campus for swimming. and are also taught language, art music, theater, and have performances throughout the year. There are a good amount of choices for ECA after school…. The school can give you the necessary info for your child's grade level. My son participated in soccer and began learning Mandarin. He loved it. he also did singing and performing in the yearly performance last year. This year they went to Darwin for a sleep over camp and all kids were happy and knackered!! upon their return. The kids keep up with Australian/NZ tradition. If anything if your kids attend a small public school in Australia they will return ahead of they're class.
hope this helps… good luck
