A place called "Fatty'S"

Post by WanWanWan » Sat, 02 Mar 2013 5:33 pm

So, according to our removalists and a few others involved in our move to Singapore, Fatty'S is the place to go to eat when we arrive.

Now, I've been in Singapore before, and love coffee shop food. We'd been planning on living off it for the first week or so after arriving while we get ourselves sorted out. But apparently Fatty'S blows everything else out of the water, and we absolutely must go there.

Has anyone been there? I can't find out much on Google except the address (175 Bencoolen St, if it helps anyone) and that it sells nice Chinese food. Has anyone been there? Are we talking hawker food or posh dining? I'm currently assuming it's an average place which has just happened to have caught on with Australian pilots or something. Still, it might be worth a look.

You couldn't find much amongst the 6350 Google hits that the search-string 'fattys bencoolen street' returns? :o Just what information is it that you're seeking! :)

Here's just one hit to get you started...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, there are lots of results with people writing that they like the food, and what kind of food it is, and so on. I'm more interested in if it is actually out of the ordinary or not (none of the reviews I can find have stated this), and what kind of place it actually is (restaurant? Coffee shop? food court? etc.)

My link will answer all of your questions, if you bothered looking at it.

But I get an impression that you can't even be bothered to do that: You seem to just want someone to hand you a tailor-made decision.

No. Don't go there. I strongly suggest you stay away as far as possible. If the recommendations of your removalists [sic] and a few others is not enough to convince you, then it would be wise not to be adventurous and try it out. I suggest you only stick to eating outlets you know well, like McDonalds.
