Bringing our maid from HK to Singapore. How long?

Post by Mjsl » Wed, 27 Feb 2013 5:05 pm

Hello there,
We are moving to Singapore soon to take up employment. We have children and our helper has agreed to come with us. We know she cannot be in Singapore at the time of applying. I have also read that we need to take an online course, then apply for her and that she can come in when she has the IPA letter.
In order to plan how early we need to get to Singapore before our 2 full-time jobs start, we need to know how long the process will take. Any help, advice?
Thanks a lot

I am also moving to Singapore in the summer and would like to bring my Sri Lankan helper and wondered how to go about it and how long it took? Did you manage to find out?

I think you'd have to allow two months. You need to do the course, the paperwork, have all the documents and then she also requires paperwork of her own.

2 months is for Filipino maids, who haven't done the POEA orientation / TESDA course etc.

If they have completed above, less than 1 month I would say safely
