Ways to get PR to get a job in Sg.

Post by Guest » Tue, 21 Dec 2004 1:36 pm

It seems to me (from most online job ads) that to work in singapore, one needs to be a Singaporean or a PR. However, to get a PR, one needs to get a work permit first ... but if one doesn't get a job offer in Singapore, how does one get a work permit ??!!!? Hmm... I am pretty confused and lost ..
Sure seems like it. What it boils down to is, if you don't have a job in Singapore, you can't stay.
What is then the fastest / easiest way to get a PR in Singapore, not including options like marrying a local .. Being a Malaysian and a fresh graduate from a good university in England, does it make it any easier?
No. Get a job, then you'll get an EP. Don't get fired, and you can get PR.

Do you have a good business idea?

Do you have a unique product / service? We will do a start up and sponsor your EP in Singapore. You need not have investment capital. We take care of funding and co-operate the business with you.

We are in an era of entreprenuership. Starting a biz is a viable alternative to being employed.

If you have tertiary educational qualifications (e.g a degree and above) - apply for the 'Landed permanent residence' scheme - pay about US$1,000 - and get a PR in principle - which means that if you manage to find a job within a specified time or are able to settle your family here, you will be able to get PR almost immediately.

Find a job that will sponsor you under an employment pass. Once you start working at your new job for a few months, apply for PR status (w/ your new company filling out a form to "sponsor" you). Wait three months for PR form to get approved and hopefully you can become a PR!

Not sure if you're for real or not, but did you bother to check on the age of the post you just replied to?

Your attention to detail as an accountant is scary. Seeing the post you replied to is over 5 years old. :o
