Before going any farther, permit me to say that you can forget about obtaining an Entrepass... only specific technology/IP businesses that are sponsored or funded by specified agencies can qualify... and you wouldn't want to have to follow the rules if you did get one... they are onerous.Tatsu wrote:I could, but I'm not going to and don't need to.
Adding on, my 2 cents to OP.Strong Eagle wrote:Your other option is, as you say, to invest in a business. But, the hurdles are higher than you might expect. First of all, Singapore is most interested in attracting technology, finance, and management businesses and individuals. The businesses you have proposed don't qualify, and while I have no direct pipeline into the MoM's email system, my sense is that you'll be hard pressed to get approval for one of those businesses simply because it could potentially open the floodgates for zillions of people to come in and open a 7-11 on every corner.

You will not qualify for an Entrepass with a tea business... only companies with certifiable intellectual property, venture capital, and/or support from government incubators qualify these days.tanghaouser wrote:Wow, this is a lot of information to take in. Perhaps someone can give me some advise. I'm a dependent spouse (American) currently living in Seoul, however, will be relocating to SG in a few weeks. I recently completed my Dependent Pass application, however, I started a small business while in Seoul and would like to official register it in SG. My questions;
1. Will having a Dependent Visa effect my applying for an EntrePass?
2. Should I apply for the EntrePass rather than a Dependent Pass?
3. My business is exporting tea from Korea to various locations globally. It is a new business but with potential. However, I besides eventually employing Singaporeans once revenue is generated and importing products into Singapore, based on what I read I don't believe it will be seen as a 'benefit' to Singapore.
I appreciate the help and feedback. Looking forward to a new adventure! Cheers.
I think that unlikely. The abuse of the Entrepass in the past means that the gahmen will be unwilling to make any sort of changes that would allow that sort of abuse to occur again in the future.subramaniampd wrote:Can we expect any change in this Entrepass regulations in 2018?
