SGCares is pretty much structured ... and all

And you can also ask around in the nearby CC, they do call for volunteers for events and programs ..

and I have seen a lot SG/Cit Company sponsored Volunteer activities taking up of late ..

I personally volunteer for a couple of non-Comm-Chest funded organisation ... personal choice ;)

Need more time in advance to plan the date

Post by S_Perumal » Sun, 03 Mar 2013 1:30 am

Minimum 30 to 45 days in advance we need to plan the activity it seems.

Else its really difficult to get the oppurtunity to volunteer in NLB.

I have registered for two activities, which is in the span of 2 weeks before actual date and 30 days in prior respectively

Both of them got rejected / deleted by the Admin.

May be next time i try to book for a activity in advance with 45 days...

Beyond this duration its difficult for me to plan the date.

Why don't you join your local RC?

RC=Resident's Committee. GRL organization (Grassroots Leader) all under the PA (Peoples Association) which is a government organization (in theory, non-political in nature).

Start here:

http://www.pa.gov.sg/

I will be receiving my 5 year award this coming November.

Please do not take the following too personal if it does not apply to you.

If you are an EP/S pass holder and are doing this for PR application purposes, please don't bother. The ICA has gotten wise to the Indian nationals running a good thing into the ground and as soon as they got their PR or got their sprog a place in the school of their choice, then they just don't bother to show up any more. I've seen it happens all too often and so has ICA. Be sure your heart is in it and not just something to see what you can get out of it.

Please.

Ofcourse i am an EP holder.

I know many are doing for PR.
But for me it is to use my free time in a useful way thats it.

I dont think i will stay out of my home and family for long time.

I am glad to say that I am happy now after few Volunteering activities here in Singapore for few events related to LIBRARY.

And I have few in my list now for LIBRARY and SPORTS.
