I remember that part of the discussion too and I only wondered whether there was anything else said that I didn't hear, as I was also mystified by the extreme reaction. I don't mind cats myself (prefer dogs though as I think they are more loyal), but my wife hates them. In Spain they are considered vermin by some people.
