Compulsory School and School Hours

Post by melliveris » Mon, 18 Feb 2013 8:25 am

Hi everyone,

how are we today?

My husband and I wil find out at the end of this week if we are moving to singapore this year. I just have a question regarding schooling.

What is the compulsory age to atttend schooling?

And what are the class times if a 4yr old was attending?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge and help.

Melissa

Singapore used to be one of the very few countries in the world with NO compulsory schooling.
This changed in 2000, when six years of primary education became mandatory.
At government schools, classes are usually half day, either in the morning or afternoon.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I had emailed a few schools this afternoon and got some responses from them also.

Thanks again - always nice to have a response :D
