Relocating while my Citizenship application status is pendin

Postby nimsin99 » Tue, 12 Feb 2013 10:47 pm

Hi, Need advise.

I am Indian and work for large MNC in Singapore been here for 8yrs (7yrs as PR). I have a 6yr old son who was born here and my wife works as well. I earn 250k+ / year . I have a house here.

I applied for citizenship in dec 2012 and while waiting my company has offered me a promotion and transfer to another place. i would like to know if i stand a chance of still getting my citizenship as i will not be here after March end.

Appreciate honest views. also do i need to inform ICA about this change or they will pick it up automatically when i exit.

Thanks in advance.

I believe you need to inform ICA of your new address, it is an offence not to update your IC address, when you moved out of singapore they may treat your application as withdrawn

Thanks Lolipop99. Any chances of citizenship? as i will be away for 3yr assigment as per my company but they will not give that to me in writing. I spoke to ICA and they told it has not impact on application outcome. I also read on the forum someone mentioning that his (one who posted on expsing forum) friend got citizenship after he relocated out of Singapore.

Thanks for your reply.
