Samsung SMART TVs...

Post by S_Perumal » Sun, 10 Feb 2013 7:40 am

Hi

Though the listed below models are 2012 one.

UA40ES6200R
UA40ES5600R
UA40EH5330R

I would like to know in the same series]UA] any better model is available.

Or the experience on these models, if you people already own any of them

I've also spent some time on Samsung's "smart tv" and I was far from impressed. Although the TV itself is rather stunning, the performance was really glitchy, and the resolution from the front-facing camera was really poor.

I think these companies have a long ways to go before they can call their TVs "smart." I guess they're all rushing to be the first to market; knowing that Apple is working on something in their labs.

Just used one last Thursday. The menus are very difficult to navigate and entering text is downright painful. So, I downloaded the android app, thinking I might be able to use the phone keyboard. No way... all the app did was give me the same stupid arrow keys as found on the TV. You need a PC to use it, and it is still buggy. Browser is terrible.

I bought one a couple of months ago. 46ES7500.

Screen is beautiful, sound is great as I have it linked to a sound bar.

Built in webcam provides a really clear picture (I have Skyped with my wife several times whilst travelling).

Browser is no problem at all and we use it regularly.

The remote control come mouse thing is not great to use and it does make typing slow and painful with an on screen keyboard but I am going to purchase the Samsung wireless keyboard when I am in the UK next week (can't seem to find it on sale here in Singapore) which should solve the problem.

I have not really played with the voice and motion recognition control yet. I am not expecting it to be perfect but will see if it is usable.

Agreed that picture and sound are first class.

Actually, I personally don't really care for any of the features of smart tv... what is attracting me, however, is how clear the resolution is (referring to Samsung models).

I'm quite keen to buy one.

I didn't get a chance to buy the keyboard when in the UK back in Feb so I ordered it on line. Arrived last Friday and we used it over the weekend. Using the Internet on the TV is now a much better experience. I am pleased I bought it.
