Entering Singapore on SVP

Post by worrybear » Wed, 06 Feb 2013 8:34 pm

Hi All,

Would like to seek some advice.

My hubby is a Malaysian and I'm a Singaporean. We got married in Singapore in Dec 2011 and due to the flurry of activites then, I forgot to request an extension of his SVP and he ended up overstaying for 47 days. Biggest mistake of our lives :(

He was charged and fined in Feb 2012, after which he was given a couple of days to pack up and leave Singapore. He remembers signing a letter which indicated that he could not re-enter Singapore till after 1 Mar 2013 but he was not given a copy of this letter.

I had tried to appeal for his early entry so that he could spend CNY with my family and I but it was rejected. We have decided not to appeal against the rejection.

I would like to know if he is able to enter Singapore on 2 Mar 2013 without seeking any further approval from ICA and if it would help if I flew in and crossed customs together with him?

Thank you very much in advance for your advice!

:)

Without a copy of that letter, it's anybody's guess.

I would love to have a copy of that letter too, but unfortunately ICA did not provide a copy. :(

Perhaps the best thing would be for him to phone the ICA and ask them?

Yes, he will be phoning ICA to ask. Thanks! :)

Just wanted to seek some extra advice as it has been 11 long months apart and many flights to M'sia hence we're hoping this nightmare will come to an end soon.
