Use the search function of this site. It's been discussed off & on here so there might be some recommendations in those threads.

There is an autistic school and centre in Simei - don't know the details, but do a search. I've done some volunteer stuff with them and they seem to be very jacked up. I knew of an american mom a few years back who had an autistic kid, but more than that, sorry I don't know.

Is it like you are completely new to the problem and therapies or you have something already more concrete in mind? If you look for general OT/Speech therapy support there are pretty many around (with quality varying). If for something more specialized and modern like DIR/Floortime or RDI there are some around but as far as I know the waiting lists are pretty long. I am talking above about private practices.

Lastly, I can get you in touch with a person who works with autistic children (she is a speech therapist) and judging from your nick you are the same nationality. She can explain better what is available around.

You might try contacting [name and contact removed]. They do a lot of excellent work with kids diagnosed with ASD.

Hi Aga,

I am mother of 2 myself and my son whom is 4 has ASD and my daughter has SM. It has been tough but in Singapore resources are largely available and many therapists will be more than happy to provide you with the information you need about ASD itself, schools, resources, support etc.

I have alot of setbacks with multiple centres but i finally found a therapist (home based) which has helped leaps and bounds. My son is not a good traveller hence we needed someone who would come to my home.

Social skill building and emotional intelligence is what we have worked on and i am blessed to see my son improving.

If you would like more informatiom, drop me a message.

I have alot of information i can share : therapists , etc.

Have faith :)

autism

I am a mom of a 6 year old boy who has autism. If you are a PR, then i urge you to apply to ARC (autism resource center). Depending on the level of autism, they will recommend them into the proper level. Pls note that the waitlist is long (e.g. 6 months).

If he has been diagnosed, I suggest you go for intensive ABA therapy at once. I can send you some centers.

There is a doctor called Dr Roby Marcou, american in novena medical who used to work in NUH. She is very good in advising parents on the child's situation and educ path.

Be firm, be strong and have faith in your kid :)

Mommy Sieg.
