Looking for a kind sole to rent a mountain bike from

Post by alunb » Thu, 31 Jan 2013 9:36 pm

Am here in Singapore for the next 4 weeks and I'm looking for a kind person who possibly has a mountain bike lying that would be willing to rent it to me. I actually only plan on using it for weekends to explore around the place. I rented one last weekend but it was over in East Coast and it was a) a rip off and b) too far to go. So if you can do without a bike for the next 4 weekends before I head back to Ireland i'd be massively appreciative :D

PS I live on Killiney Road so anywhere within a 10 mile radius of this area would suit.

Thanks for the reply, did consider this but I would end up throwing it away
and that would be to much of a waste in my eyes. I'll keep my fingers crossed something turns up, cheers.

well, you can buy one and when you are leaving, you can throw in my direction ;) I will pay you 50 % of the cost .. :D

Nah, just kidding

It may be cheaper to buy a low end one and rid it in Ebay or dump it in Salvation Army, if nobody wants it .. it will not go wasted ..

Fair point and worth considering. Then all I need to do is find a joint somewhere relatively central where I buy a bone shaker. I'll do more Googling, cheers.

I don't do that much riding anymore but I've got my old (15 years) low end Iron Horse MTB (always kept in the house) but unfortunately it's a 14.5" frame (seat tube height - I'm only 5'7" with a 28" inseam) so it might be a bit uncomfortable for a tall person). I've just realized that there is a good possibility that the front fork shock tubes may have lost their pressure as it's been a good year since I've used it. If that's the case then it's probably unrideable. Well, it was a thought anyway.
