Can ex SG citizen apply for LTSVP?

Post by freshmeat » Wed, 30 Jan 2013 2:36 pm

Hi guys,

I read through quite a bit of your posts. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and making them fun to read.

I haven't come across anything similar to my situation. Hopefully some of you can give me some guidance.

My wife will be posted in SG for 3 years assignment this spring as a full expat. Her company will sponsor EP (or PEP?). Presumably family members will get SVP (or LTSVP?). The kink is I was ex SG citizen about 10 years ago. I renounced SG citizen with SG embassy and get all it documented. My questions are:
1. Does this impact me getting SVP (or LTSVP)?
2. I plan find a job after settling the family down, presumably this should be ok but I'm not quite sure.

Appreciate your insights and thanks in advance.

If you renounced according to the required procedures and have no obligations of any sort (i.e. NS, taxes) left behind then you should probably have no problems with anything except gaining back the citizenship and perhaps PR.

You can apply for a DP seeing as your wife will be on a EP

That's what I'm wondering about too. Tried MOM online tool with positive result. Guess I'll really know when I apply for EP.

Thanks again guys.
