Now in case of EP holders the salary requirement to apply for LTSVP for parents is a P1 pass i.e. 12K per month.

Salary requirement for P1 pass is 8K, and not 12K as mentioned.
I believe 12K is the new requirement for PEP holders.

Yep, and I reckon that will be the magic number. 8K. WD40 is wrong on the amount required for a P1 pass. For the time being anyway, that is.....

Yesterday I heard in the news the minimum salary levels for work permit holders is going to change from 2014!

Not sure if this is indicative, but I just took MOM's survey for EP holders last week. They had a question about your salary. It was very granular in 2k chunks for the first 8k, then it was just "8k-16k" and "16k+". That also leads me to believe anything over 8k is smooth sailing for a decent while. Unless they're anticipating bumping P1s to 16k.
