House Plant

Post by Steve1960 » Tue, 29 Jan 2013 3:32 pm

Anyone with green fingers here?

I have a specific location in the apartment where I would like a house plant. The spot does not get a lot of natural light and is in an air conditioned room.

I bought a rubber plant late last year but that is not doing very well. The leaves are gradually falling off.

I am lead to believe a peace lily may be more suitabe but I am not sure.

Ideas for type of plant and place to purchase would be welcome.................and yes I have considered and disgarded the idea of having a plastic plant! :-)

Cheers

Spider plants are always good houseplants because they're hard to kill. However, I'm not sure where to buy one.

If everything fails try one of the Yukka plants. Their adaptivity and tolerance to various conditions are amazing. They used to have the whole raw of them in the basement carpark in Jurong Point and they did not look so bad.

Whatever you get, you might want to spray it with insecticidal soap every so often to avoid bugs.

This place sells houseplants and also rents them, according to its website.
