Well. some did say and off they go in a hurry. It is either their way or the highway.
Years later only then they admitted they made a mistake. An admittance of mistakes of a bit too late.
Take for eg "Two is enough policy" or having the Grand Prix in SG or HDB policy based on race among others which they realize that it is not a wise choice

Anyone who posts "I hope PAP keep winning GE's" with no real supporting statement can rightly and deservedly be called a douche by someone who opposes this position IMHO.
And anyone who posts simply, "You're an idiot" with no real supporting statement can also "rightly and deservedly be called a douche"?

C'mon, mate... you're letting your ego get in front of the fact that you have behaved in a way that really cuts the legs out from your other, more rational posts.

When this idea was mooted in the late 90s, most of the cabinet ministers were against it as they thought it would bring out boy racer cultures. Against LKY better judgement he decided to agree with them . When Sepang kicks in and the MYR 1 billion revenue just on cargo handling the Grand Prix brought to Sepang, LKY has to bent backwards just get SG into the Grand Prix scene.
I just wonder how much they have to pay GP maestro to get them back to SG when before it was almost to nothing to get it here

Let's just avoid political posts. Forums tend to overheat.

I do resent though being scolded by a mod who is no longer resident. You don't get the feel of a country on the ground like we do.

2) "PAP is Singapore", it is. Singapore's global identity has been shaped entirely by PAP. You can assume he likes and supports what that identity is.
He's an FT that has most likely benefited from the PAP policies and wants them to continue for his own selfish reasons. SC's are beginning to despise these sorts. I too cannot support an FT like that.

You're guilty of at least #1, #2, and #4 in just your most recent quoted post above, and I didn't bother to read past #5.
You don't get it. You want to stay in Singapore? You want to comment on politics and NOT get bitch slapped? Welcome to reality.

Not strictly true.

Whilst the job of an opposition is to oppose policy it doesn't agree with, it should rightly be open minded enough to still support policy it does. It should also have balanced views about how to improve any such policy.

Look at the UK as a current example, with its current coalition. Whilst it doesn't work perfectly we can imagine Glegg and his merry band of flies in the Tory ointment at least have the possibility to mould some policy away from being 'stupid' to being something a bit more reasonable. Whilst I like the idea of such consensus I also have sympothy for the SG/MY/CN policy of basically the single party as long term plans can be put together and enacted. It's not like the US where government really only works on alternate 2yr cycles and, as we see, it stagnates.

The problem comes when some of those single party plans go against what is required and there is nobody there to say so, at that specific time.
+1. The WP don't appear to be opposing for the sake of opposing.

The above is really confusing, what I am quoted as saying was by ZZM, and vice versa.

Why? Just because YOU as the only regular have clear problem controlling yourself on a pretty basic level?

Yeah, sure after living here for 6 years or so and being away only for a few months this surely changes the grounds. And you know what is the irony of this and some earlier situations? SE was always the most forgiving for all the mods to your misbehaviour so really, maybe you should take this opportunity and just shut up?

Your resentment has been duly noted. But please do note that one of the duties of moderators is to scold those that we deem to be out of line. It's the lowest end of remedies that we have available.

Please also note that I scolded you, not for your political views but for your treatment of another poster. I could be on Mars and make that judgement.

Go to hell arsewipe. Ban me you moron mod. If you allow political posts you must understand in that otak kachang of yours that people will have opinions and are prepared to fight for them. I WILL take on the OP who clearly has a PAP bias and most likely you - another FT sucking on the teat of the PAP. SE DOES NOT know the angst this local BE has caused as he is not on the ground here and obviously you're too obtuse to notice it as well (or are you ANOTHER non resident mod?).

6 years? Try having been a PR for 28.... Christ he's just a babe in arms.

I will say, that victory speech by the WP guy was truly the weirdest thing I've ever heard.
